Option or Obsession?

Being Danielle's friend, or even an acquaintence, means changing your cellphone plan to allow for unlimited texts. Not 500 a month. Not 1000 a month. Unlimited.
Here's a few Danielle texts that friends of hers have submitted to the blog recently:

Howard Rheingold’s somewhat recent book, "Smart Mobs" confronts this gratuitous attachment to instant-message-response technology in a way that every friend of Danielle ought to consider. Here's what another blogger named Kate had to say about it...

"I have never been overseas to witness teenagers in a text messaging frenzy in Japan and Finland, so Rheingold’s description of how wired in these people are really blew me away. Thumb tribes? Texting while driving and not even glancing at the screen of the mobile device? Although I know that American culture is much different than that of European and Asian nations, I can’t help but wonder: Are we addicted to technology?"
As Rheingold describes the condition, it's a case of “being continuously available to others, and the way all our formerly idle moments aboard public transit or while walking down the street are now filled with activity.” (p. 28)

For Danielle, however, texting isn't just a way to fill time. No, Danielle works in texts the way other artists might have worked in oil pants or clay. Some of her electronic missives are nothing short of poetic. For instance...

SCIENCE BOTTOMS OUT!

Danielle Just Got Out of a Drug Study!

Already an accomplished activist, drinker and DJ, Danielle has now donated her body to science, or at least let it out on loan. Our favorite Guinea Pig just got out of a UPenn medical study investigating the metabolism rate of some new drug as it effects our bodies' fattiest areas.
And, ya know what, STARS ARE JUST LIKE US!!! Even though Danielle is perfect, she has to work just as hard as we do to keep her
never- you-mind in prime, bikini condition.

SO, the clinic that performed the medical study loaded Danielle and a bunch of other compensated volunteers up with the drug and then took several small biopsies from her backside.

Danielle's personal trainer, Gunther, says this shouldn't pose any serious problem for Ms. Redden, whose ass is expected to heal within a week. So, her modelling options are still open.

Danielle Redden Interview Postponed

Danielle Spotted at Oi! Show in West Philly

Now it's no secret that Danielle has long nurtured an obsession with Sinead O'Connor, Electrelane, Belle & Sebastian, Spacemen 3 and playing the same damn Joan Jett song every time she DJs. But, ReddenSpotter sleuths can now confirm that she also has a soft spot for rough lads!!

Philadelphia's favorited lapsed Catholic sauntered into an exclusive, VIP after party of Pointless Fest this past Saturday night, dressed to the nines from an earlier DJ engagement. Only, Danielle wasn't there to spin discs, but pump fists! Check out this compromising photo that catches her right in the middle of the action, singing along to a Cocksparrer cover, along with a hundred or so skinheads and punk rockers.

Fashionistas say Danielle made a bold statement jumping into the black-clad crowd in her summery floral pattern. However, this is America, not France, Mme. Redden, and ReddenSpotter says it might be time to trim that armpit hair.

If she wasn't surrounded by skinheads, we'd think she'd put someone in a headlock!!

Danielle Redden: DJ, Activist, ... Birthday Party Planner?

Proving herself a true renaissance woman, Danielle added yet another title to her long list of accomplishments earlier this month when she organized a semi-surprise outdoor luncheon in Rittenhouse Park to celebrate her friend Mike McKee's 30th birthday.

Given her impressive social clout, it's no surprise that all sorts of scenesters showed up, from star photographer Shawn Brackbill to Sound Salvation DJ Rachel Uffner, queer heart-throb and longtime Sean Agnew confidante Andrew Martini and more!!

Donning a chef's cap for a few moments--or at least a caterer's apron--Danielle dazzled her guests with vegan canollis, fruit juices and a breath-taking flower and balloon bouquet.

Danielle Announces South American Trip!

Danielle has announced her plans to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, this October. It's unclear exactly what she'll do, other than work on her Spanish.

Sources say Danielle was seen at the Khyber last night, hob-nobbing with local celebs including SEAN AGNEW (http://seanspotter.blogspot.com), Terry Yerves and Birthday girl Josie!

Danielle turned up shortly after 12:30 am in a casual blue tanktop with red piping, and bluejeans, proving that the classics are still in charge.

Apparently white wine is all the rage this summer for D-Reds, who our spies indicate didn't have a shot all night. She was caught smoking (tsk tsk), texting (obviously) and dancing with Josie, though.
